Aliens theme 2008
Just one of those many ideas I had to work out of my system. The Aliens, a way of looking at the daft things the human race does for fun.
These are all Stoneware and fired to 1260 degrees and vary in size from 4 inches up to 22 inches in diameter. .
Having experimented with countless glazes and colours over my career I find the simple monotone combination I use on these pieces has remained my favourite when painting on stoneware. The subtle Semi-matt Zinc glaze from an Emmanuel Cooper book is a perfect background with a lovely tendency to bring out a hint of blue from the Daniel Rhodes soot black pigment.
